Ok a little update on the status: Well finally I got Xtreme 6.0 and I must say it's amazing... Sometimes it goes over 6.5 Mbps. nice!... the change actually took them almost a week, I got decieved by the online system. So far, I have not experienced the disconnections anymore...

Back to BS: Well since I'm not the owner of the phone line my family makes changes without my previous knowledge. So I was about to scream to a BS rep and found out that my own family moved me from EL to BS... consider this the reason. Well, ok here we are:
Service is still stable, so far I still need to disconnect/reconnect sometimes from router (or reset modem) when connection seems unresponsive. However, I recently moved and I'm aiming to get extreme speed this time (6.0 Mbps) if building structure allows it (and distance from CO....). After my unscheduled move I'm checking out some new features:
Now I'm not on BS, I'm on AT&T (old news)
DSL speed changes can be done online and can be changed on the fly (before it took them 3 days to make this happen, even if the order was placed online)
DSL seems cheaper on high tiers (6.0 @ $42.95?, but I understand this as result of the merge)
So far I'm happy except for my reconnection issues but they are very seldom.

Well I started with Lite (256/64) and I understood that speed is necessary. I use my internet mostly for online gaming and file downloads so I really needed more. Currently I am on the Ultra/Extreme (I'm not quite sure...) (3000/256)... I wanted to go full 6 Mbps but it seems that I can't because of geographical issues.
Ordering and installing was kind of easy for me since I had installed wired networks in the past. 5 full days to get the modem. It takes 2 days (at least 1 full day) to "upgrade" (Yes, I tested each one of the speeds offered by bellsouth and each one took at least 2 days to complete).
So far speed is as promised. Sometimes I have to restart the modem because it just won't connect. Beside that, customer service is good. I should say great but here's why: One night I was working on my PC and suddenly the internet went down. After research I found that it was their server. So I call at 2.30 am and they actually picked up and told me that they were doing upgrades to their servers and service should be reinstated by next morning. Well I had to work with dial-up. What bothers me is the fact that they did not notify me. A email would been nice.
The speed is as stated most of the times with a few bottlenecks in which the speed is like 1.5 - 2 mbps but I can live with that as long as it does not fall below 1 mbps. Static IP seems to work flawlessly.
