| The Alcatel Speed Touch Home and 1000 wire to the outside wires of a four wire telephone connector (pins 1 and 4). Normal telephone circuits use the middle wires (pins 2 and 3). If you have this type of modem make sure that the jack is wired properly and you are using a four wire cord from the jack to the modem. by foneboy edited by Flippant | ||
| If you've correctly installed the internal modem and drivers you should see a new icon in your system tray. It should look like two square lights and will probably be red in color. This means the modem is installed correctly, but is not in sync. This problem is caused by the wrong DSL type default being selected during the install. To correct this right-click on the DSL modem icon and select Configuration. Uncheck the box next to G.dmt and check the box next to ANSI 1483. Save the configuration and exit. The modem should, if you have a good DSL signal, sync up in a minute or so. You'll be able to tell because the modem icon will turn black and the green lights on the modem card itself will be solid. by kmac1 edited by Flippant | ||
