Re: My server setup
But yea, virtualize :)
Just get a nice HP with 8 cores and max ram (72 gb), fibre chan storage , and vm ware's ESX + an additional server box for virtual center and physical to virtual tasks (so you don't have to reconfigure everything).
Heck you can do it in one rack :)

What brand node and line extender did you get? Does it say the model number and/or bandwidth? 750 MHz, 870 MHz, etc..?

Re: My server setup
Wow, good find! Wish my local Comcast had cool stuff like that sitting around for me to play with. Only thing I saw there was a bent up antenna!
Cool setup, dumpster diving FTW!

Re: My server setup
Nice job man. I used to be a tech for Comcast and the crap we threw out almost amazed me. For your age your doing pretty damn good. I've wanted to get into this kind of stuff but ditching the day job for this is kind of tough. The wife would murder me. At least you started before there is a wife. lol.

Re: My server setup
the f5 box is on the first floor located where the DSL modem is, the comcast modem and the fiber optic connection come in at the basement, but then are routed up to the first floor to the f5 box, then it comes back down stairs to the router then is ether routed to the DMZ or the LAN, i got it off ebay, for $300 + Shipping.
