Re: [Unlock] TUTORIAL: VONAGE WRTP54G/RTP300 WITH 5.01.04
I unlocked my WRTP54G and tried setting it up for MJ according to the instructions, but I get no dial tone. IS there a thread somewhere for help with this setup? I can get internet thru the device so I know the hardware is working.

I'm in the same boat as yumagah, got everything done as per instructions, double checked settings, user Id, password, etc., rebooted several times, but I still get no dial tone and can't call out. Any ideas?
Thanks very much for the screens and help here, this was a complicated project and I feel like I'm allllmost at the end :)

Hi Folks!
I have a same symptom. I already unlocked, my Vonage WRTP54G, but no dial tone...
This is only settings failure, or maybe voice module is broken?
Please help me!
Thank you so much..

When you look at the Info page (main page under the VoIP section) does the status of Line 1 (or Line 2, depending which one you configured) show "registered" ? What about Hook state ?
I've seen a few WRTP54G with the voice module broken, and usually the symptom was that after the port registered with the VoIP service the light corresponding to it was blinking, showing "of hook" even whn no phone was connected.

MagicJack has locked down pretty good the use of SIP devices on their network. Been this way for about 6 months now. Some can do outbound, some inbound, but the last I checked (a few months ago), no one got both.
Check out this site for hacking MJ, since they are dedicated to MJ only:

Re: [Unlock] TUTORIAL: VONAGE WRTP54G/RTP300 WITH 5.01.04
I found that MJ might have changed the way digest auth works. In stead of username:password they might add another info (call-id) maybe. I used SIPp to play what 401 reponse from MJ server but MJ generate different auth header time. So even we get user name and password we might only need to modify the device we have source for it (like asterisk).

Thank you for the answers!
This is my status page:

No matter what I am set in the VOIP setting pages, this page is nothing change..
But!
The last night, I download the NA firmware, for Vonage WRTP54g. The version number is: 1.00.??NA. This is the original FW for Vonage WRTP, but maybe modded, because SSH login is enabled..
After unlocking CYT, I logged in with dropbear, and see the VOIP logs..
Set line1, and SIP settings, and tadaaaa Line1 LED is light, and I hear dial tone.. Outgoing call is not working.
Conclusion:
1. VOIP module is working!
2. SIP settings is OK
Maybe error in the FW??
Someone could send me the ssh enabled 3.1.** modded fw for my Vonage box?
Maybe if I analyse the voice logs, found the problem..
Thank you so much!

Re: [Unlock] TUTORIAL: VONAGE WRTP54G/RTP300 WITH 5.01.04
Which of the 3.1.x firmwares are you using and who is the VoIP provider ?
I don't have the SSH enabled version but 3.1.24 works great for me. The 3.1.17 and older had a lot of problems.

Re: [Unlock] TUTORIAL: VONAGE WRTP54G/RTP300 WITH 5.01.04
Last night try more something..
Put this FW to my router: 3.1.27ETSI
»[Unlock] WRTP54G Unlocked firmware 3.1.27 ETSI
and 3.1.24NA..
The result is absolute same..
No VOIP, and no internet access in client machine, but receive IP from ISP, and ping is ok, in router diagnostic page..
Client computer resolve IP when I try pinging example yahoo.com, but no answer...
I don't know why do that..
So that's it.. I dont have a more idea..
I give up completely...
if someone have a working Vonage WRTP54G router FW, please send me!
Maybe help me..
Thank you..

Re: [Unlock] TUTORIAL: VONAGE WRTP54G/RTP300 WITH 5.01.04
MagicJack may have closed down this particular hack?
I have not been messing with it for a while now. I may try the 3.1.27 firmware version. I have been using 3.1.17 and not even getting dial tone. The device does work as a router, passing thru internet to client pc's. Could be the voice module on mine is bad, since I got it used.

(I posted the entry as "meagin".)
I followed the configuration instructions on this page:
The config is for the RTP300 but it was the only one I could find. I think it should be very similar to the WRTP54G.
