Protection Control Center
Is anyone using Earthlink's Protection Control Center?
If so, how is it working out for you?
I see that it includes anti-virus, firewall and spyware programs and since it looks like they are using the Kapersky anti-virus product, it sounds very good.
I have no security complaints at present so I wonder if it is worth considering.

I don't use any of Earthlink's hardware , but their email Antivirus filter caught one of the new "UPS" viruses and quarantined it before it even got to me so that was a good thing. All I got was a notice that they blocked it.
I personally use Avira antivirus , Zonealarm firewall, and a combo of Spyware Blaster and Super Antispyware. All are free and can be found at www.filehippo.com

Re: Protection Control Center
I have been using Avast anti-virus as it was the only one that was free, and had support for 64 bit Vista when I built my machine. I also let the Vista firewall do it's thing and use Windows Defender for anti-spyware. (Also I am behind a router).
After doing some research, I do believe the PCC's AV product using the Kaspersky engine might be highly beneficial, but it looks like EarthLink is prone to changing the PCC programs and just might change to another all-in-one product after a few months.
I am probably better off staying where I am with Avast AV and perhaps using Comodo as a firewall, and too maybe using a third party anti-spyware product.

Re: Protection Control Center
I just had Eartlink cable ISP service installed a few days ago. The installer gave me an Earthlink TotalAccess 2005 software CD which included an installer for the Protection Control Center (PCC). I spent hours trying to install this product on my Windows XP home PC, but was not successful. I went to Earthlink's web site and found a more up-to-date version of the software, and with this newer version I was able to install the PCC. The current PCC software requires the installation of Microsoft's .Net 2.0 Framework. After installation, I found the software to be very slow to start up and respond to requests. The included firewall is very poor and appears incomplete - when I looked at the alerts screen, there was no way to scroll through it. The whole product seems to have a clunky feel to it. I have used the computer protection packages included with Roadrunner, AT&T Yahoo DSL, and now Earthlink, and Earthlink's is in my opinion the worst of the bunch.
