[TW] still available with TWC

Is Earthlink still available for TWC customers? i went to the Elink website and it doesn't show any cable service areas anymore. Just DSL and Hughesnet.

What's the deal? Especially when TWC says you can order them on the TWC.com/neo site.

Pretty sure it varies by region, not all TWC is Elink-ready. My friend in Socal can't get Elink in his TWC neighborhood.

Elink is a nationwide option. But it is NOT available with the old Adelphia service areas.

The thing is TWC has it listed on their site but Elink doesn't have anything about cable modem anymore. Nothing about Comcast and nothing about Time Warner. It's all HughesNet, DSL and Dial-up.

TWC only is required to have them share their network for like 10years I believe. And that was only when AOL merged with Time Warner.

Not required. The lower federal court decision was overturned in 6/05 by the US Supreme Court. All that now exists is a mutually advantageous agreement between the two.

Does not show anything for Cable after you put your information in. Not even after i have used several addresses. I've used three addresses in University Heights Ohio (which is NEO) and several addresses from the MidOhio Div. But both sites show Earthlink is available.

Re: [TW] still available with TWC

Mark910's link works for me when I use neighbors addresses from the mid Ohio division.

Since no one but the exec's. at TW and EL seem to have a have a copy of the agreement between the two, one suspects that EL wants nothing to do with areas where TW has made recent acquisitions, or where they have otherwise found that cable service is not fully mature.

Suggest you see if you can get an answer at 1-800-earthlink.

I'll resort to DSL before calling Earthlink and dealing with some person in India named Mike that doesn't know anything.

Especially since addresses in the Former WOH area -- now MidOhio and several addresses in NEO do not have Elink services available according to the Elink site. And I lived two addresses in the MidOhio area and i know for a fact they can get Elink service from TWC since i had Elink at both addresses.
