Sure, bring your gaming PCs and five xboxes over here, and we'll trade problems. I'll cope with Comcast problems while I whomp up on some neophytes on Team Fortress 2.
Sounds like another good deal.

On a related note, do any of you fancy pants know how to lower pings? I dont like my pings being as high as they are. (32ms on Comcasts own server less then 5 miles away with the fastest fast! Lame!)
It will make absolutely no difference in anything you are doing to lower the response times by 10ms.

I disagree, but thanks for your opinion too.

PS: Why only 10ms?...

When I write in all quotes, in a tone different from my normal writing, that's called sarcasm. I wanted to write more about how Jesus ran faster than light while walking on water, but I decided I enjoy not being banned from BBR.

I'm guessing Comcast is still not being good for you. Why not change ISPs? But I do believe it might have something to do with your equipment.

I get around 30.6 down and 3 up and that's more than enough for me to game on XBL (which I do a lot). I'm just using a normal Arris modem and an old Belkin Wireless G router and have not experienced lag in games (but that was after I set up a static IP, we'll get to that in a minute). I also have heard over on the Xbox forums that Wireless G routers are the best for gaming on XBL.

Did you set up your PC and 360 to have a static IP address? Just wondering, because it might just help. I know I used to have problems gaming before I set up a static IP.

I would change ISPs, but as is the case in a lot of areas, there simply isnt any competition.

Yes there is, you just don't want to pay for the type of connection you really seem to think you need. Tripple 9's are expensive.

You call that competition? There is no competition here.

I would call competition any company willing to provide you internet access. So yes, you have options. Although I think you will see the same issues.

My definition of competition differs.

Anyways, this result is Comcastic! »www.speedtest.net/result/614798195.png

Re: [Connectivity] My area's Comcast + Xbox Live = :(

I have a feeling its one of the splitter's since u tried pretty much everything even the kitchen sink. Don't go by they are "Official" comcast splitter's I had major issue's at one point with my connection and the tech's couldn't even figure it out. Whether it being my PC, 360, or PS3 and in the end it was the splitter "They" put in that branch's the connection to the rest of the house. Which i figured out after i replaced it, Their splitter's are like $2-$4 MAX. I bought a $7 RCA one that was 5-2400Mhz Yes I know its kind of high but it was the only one the store had at the time. And never had any issue's until they started working on Docsis 3.0 here. So maybe try that since ur issue isn't really being resolved.

On this subject, sure having another company willing to provide people with internet access can be seen as competition. But for the price you pay, speeds you get, products you get, it is almost not at all competitive.

Well, I've been playing some CoD: MW2 lately and every time I get host everyone complains about it lagging. People even stutter across the screen, screen pauses for me, and other shenanigans.

Only the best for customers with the fastest fast!

I think it is as well, but of course, Comcast wont admit it...
