Connection Dropping
This question is almost exact as one of the posts below but it says to old to reply to so please bear with me.
I live in Bullhead City, AZ and have NPG Cable as my ISP. Ever since I moved up here I've noticed that quite frequently the internet service seemed to drop ALOT but the lights on the modem never went out. I was able to get some help from a buddy of mine who works for Cox in phoenix and that my signal level was at -13 dB but my SNR was fine. (this was on the downstream). I started with a Motorola SurgBOARD 5150 (I believe) and have also tried 2 D-Link DCM-202's. Connecting directly to any of the modems had no effect. We've also had an issue with the TV service tileing and freezing. After MANY attempts at calling NPG, they FINALLY agreed to send out a tech out because the signal appeared to be "low". The first guy came out and replaced main splitter outside and splitter in the attic. Downstream signal changed to about -5 dB, so the signal issue seemed to be resolved. Internet seemed to work for about an hour, then the problem came back and the TV never changed.
Called back and complained they sent out another tech the same day but didnt get to my place until 10 pm. He switched out my first d-link modem for my second modem and left. Internet and TV worked fine for an hour and then the problem came back worse then before. The signal levels were the same as when the first tech left. (-5 dB/SNR 33).
after checking the modem logs, I came across this info. System Event Log

NPG now seems to think my problem is because there is a bad power outlet somewhere in the house backfeeding into the signal. I hav eno clue what this means and my tech friend at cox says that makes no sense to him.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to solve this issue?
Thank you for any input you can give.
