uploading problems

Since I have built my new PC and installed WINXP 64 bit ver I have been having trouble uploading anything ,images,videos,MP3's .It just won't upload. No upload status bar the upload button is grayed out after I press it for the 1st time and stays grayed out.It also looks and acts like a lost connection, the tab for that is showing its trying to connect and just keeps trying.
I never had this problem before and my firewall isn't alerting me to any problem.
Wonder if it has something to do with 64 bit ver of WINXP.

Re: uploading problems

Just to rule out Richard, have you tried an alternative browser?
Opera, Firefox...?

That was the problem Lisa and anyone else reading.

Re: uploading problems

Just out of curiosity, when you had a 'failed' upload, did the url change? See if it does, and if it does, try re-previewing after it has changed. See if the upload is there then. Also, if you have a visible upload/download meter, that should show if it's really uploading, and just not auto-refreshing the screen after.

Re: uploading problems

I tried that tmpchoas. For small files its seems to work.
On large files I tired to view thru Netstat Live program which shows incoming and outgoing activity.Nothing was moving .
And Firefox showed no progress bar.
With IE 8 64 bit browser at least I could see browser loading bar at bottom right of browser and watch its progress.
Must be some incompatability with WINXP 64 and Firefox.

Re: uploading problems

Well I see you have it somewhat resolved, but probly not a problem with 64bit I have been using 64 bit for 3 years now and never had an upload or download problem.. I do use FTP most of the time to upload to my web pages, and have a FTP server running on it as well... it rocks as fast as my connection can go.

Re: uploading problems

keithsplace it was a problem uploading to DSLReports.com.I've been a member to this site for about 8/9 yrs.Never had a problem uploading large files here.It must have something to do with Firefox browser and 64 bit OS.
It works with IE8 just fine.
I have plenty of speed here also 15 Mb/s down 2 Mb/s up.

FWIW, the uploader and /sendfile page are broken again in Chrome. I would bet it's broken in Safari too. /sendfile requires the Refresh to happen (and it doesn't.) This a particular problem with small files (in the sub 1MB range)

Re: uploading problems

drew i don't have a problem with small files but I do have to repreview and then it works. But there is no way in the browser to see if file is progressing,no progress bar like there use to be on DSLReports. Not sure if it them or my PC software thats creating the problem.
