Daytona Beach Area Intermittant Disconnects

Since about the beginning of September, I have been getting random disconnects from Brighthouse. The disconnects seem to be more prevalent at night.

At first I thought it might be the modem, but I went to the local Brighthouse office and they switched it out. This made no difference.

When the disconnect happens, I go check the modem and the only lights are the power and the pc light, the cable light is completely dead [no blinking]. I then have to unplug and reconnect the power for the modem to make it work because not even a release and renew will make it work.

This is really frustrating for connection centered applications, such as video chat and games!

Is anyone else experiencing this? I am not sure what to do .. its making me nuts!

You might have gotten another sensitive modem. But if it is a time specific issue (always between 8-10pm), this might sound stupid, but it might be a sprinkler system "watering" your facilities (walk around the neighborhood to see if that is the case). I'd ask for a tech dispatch during the time it normally happens (if possible), if not just ask for a dispatch and describe the problem and hopefully (s)he can isolate it.
