[IA] Internet getting really bad at night.

This is my internet experience for the last 7 days. Notice the pattern. They seemed to have fixed the noise issue again that was causing my modem to lose sync. This side of Oelwein has such bad luck. I think since Oelwein is run from Waterloo maybe this will get fixed soon with the DOCSIS 3 upgrades.

That 108ms average ping time to your 1st hop (10.19.23.1) is WAY to high. Should be under 30 during primetime.

Your # 2 hop is just not reporting. Otherwise the following hops would show poor times.

This is getting ridiculous. Can't use my internet for any gaming cause the ping sucks so bad. My brother down the street just mentioned he can't use his internet for gaming either. I assume he is on the same node. Although he is on channel 1 for upstream and I am on channel 2. Can't watch TV shows on HULU because of all the packet loss. It just freezes up or skips all the time.

The tech that was at my brothers today said there hasn't been a problem with utilization for 2 years. Yeah right.

Anybody have any idea when this will get fixed. I had some minor packet loss before but when they increased the speeds up last time, that really screwed things up. I would rather everyone have slightly slower internet then crappy internet for everyone.

This is yet another few days of crappy internet.

Why am I not surprised it hasn't gotten any better. I can't count the weeks that I haven't been able to play Battlefield 2 at night because I always get disconnected from my server either because my ping gets too high and I get kicked for high ping or there is too much packet loss and I straight out get disconnected. I NEVER remember it being this bad a year or so ago. Mediacom has gone down hill BIG TIME in quality.

Plus the internet was out from 2:54am to 4:23am this morning. [10-23-2009] I called in and they said it was probably maintenance. I was hoping maybe they were trying to fix the problem. WRONG! The modem was synced up this whole time, just no internet.

Sounds like things are going to get better. I received a call from someone in the regional center (don't know what you call it). He was able to give me a better idea of when the prime time utilization issues would be fixed. He was very helpful and we had a nice conversation. There are some good people behind this company.

Sorry again for the delays in getting this fixed Donat76. The gentlemen you spoke with is the Headend Tech in your area. He sent me an email confirming the conversation and said we are working to get the issues resolved! Thanks for your patience, and thanks for choosing Mediacom!

I agree there are some great people behind this company I think some of them are left in the dark with some of the issues and trying to get a hold of the better people in the company is like finding a needle in a haystack. But I think the rants on this forum cause a lot of the employees visit this forum have helped our problems get solved in a more timely matter.
