Re: Woohoo

Been pouring all day up here in the far north. Have not had extreme winds, however.

Stay safe, y'all!

Trees down all over downtown/midtown.

Nice little storm to get the season started

Re: Woohoo

sfromsf, you were right about dogs not wanting to go outside. I carried Ben outside this morning and he ran inside and hid from me. :D So I left6 some puppy pads down for him but he didn't use them. :o And it doesn't seem like he peed any place in side either.

The rain stopped in Alameda as soon as I got back from UC so I took him for a fast walk. He peed for almost 5 minutes. :D He was not very happy with me for making him go on a walk. He doesn't like wet grass or sidewalks.

Re: Woohoo

yeah luckily the rain let up here enough for us to have a dry walk.

though I did lose one tree and the other is ready to go.
These are both under three years old and the roots were so shallow they just lifted out from the water saturation and wind.

Re: Woohoo

Just got power back on here, it has been down since 08:20 this AM.
I had to drive to the foot of the Altamont in Livermore this AM, trip took 2 hours.
Got back home at 2 PM, the house gutters were overflowing despite being clean.

Re: Woohoo

My phone service is down and isn't expected to be repaired until Thursday. I swear, the first rain of the season always kills my phone service. Every year for a decade now. Two years ago, it was down for almost three weeks. AT&T is pathetic.

A friend in Berkeley had his DSL fixed in the middle of the rainstorm yesterday. Guy had to go up the pole and everything.

Man, just had a micro cell over us that was really dumping rain hard. Pretty intense there for a while.

Again with the weather today,

Anybody experience this today in the bay area???

I saw a funnel/waterspout over Fremont today...then started to pour down rain. Was crazy, a ton of accidents, one including a CHP.

I was lucky enough not to be out in it today. :D But there was a deluge this morning and then another one this afternoon between 3 and 3:30 here.

Re: Woohoo

It was insane. I actually got off the freeway (92 in Fremont) because I couldn't see anything even doing 35mph. That was about 3:30pm. As it let up a little I got back on, then it started pouring again. Half way through the San Mateo bridge it just stopped. Literally. My wind shield wipers went from the fastest setting to off in 10 seconds. I've never seen anything like that.

Apparently the cells were capable of doing 8" per hour if they stayed in one place.

I was driving on I5 yesterday near Lodi and I could barely see 5 feet in front of me. Everyone was pulled over.
