Ambit >> signal levels
My girlfriend lives on the 3rd floor in a apartment complex and uses the cable and internet company Grande Communications in Austin Tx. Her internet work alright but pages wont load till you hit refresh. It got a good bit better when I moved her over to OpenDNS but it is still not as good as I would like.
Ambit
Model: U10C018
Upstream Modulation : QAM16
Upstream transmit Power Level : 51.5 dBmV
Downstream Modulation : QAM256
Downstream Receive Power Level : -4.3 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 38.2 dB
From my experience her levels are marginal. Am I right?
Is a tech call warranted and is there any thing I could do to help improve things?
Would a different cable modem be better for this application? I have spare Motorola SB5120 and SB5101, Scientific Atlanta DPC-2100 and Linksys BEFCMU10v4 cable modems.

Upstream Power level is marginal.

Re: Ambit >> signal levels
According to the link you posted I fall within acceptable ranges.
Upstream Transmit Power : range +8 to +58 dBmV (perfered below +55 dBmV)
Downstream Received Power: DOCSIS specification requires a range of -15 dBmV to +15 dBmV
Downstream SNR: should be 30 dB or higher:
At first look I thought my Upstream Transmit Power was alittle high and Downstream Received Power was a little low.
what ranges are good and what are marginal?

Re: Ambit >> signal levels
From the web site
Downstream SNR: should be 30 dB or higher: the higher the better.
Downstream Received Power: the DOCSIS specification requires cable modems to function correctly with downstream power levels in the range -15 dBmV to +15 dBmV: power readings at or close to those extremes are likely to be unacceptable.
Upstream Transmit Power: Values in the forties are the most common.
