Google Voice invites available to existing members

I noticed when I logged in to Google Voice a couple minutes ago that there was a box in the lower left hand side of the screen telling me that I have 3 Google Voice invites left! I have not seen that before. So, I put in three email addresses and hopefully sent out three invites to people who had been asking about it.

Any other members seeing this?

Edit: I have 5 accounts (with five different numbers) and only one (the oldest) account have the 3 invites!

That's what they did with Gmail way back when. Eventually it opened up to everyone. Can't see that happening with GV.

I see 3 available invites on 1 account but nothing on my other (I have 2 accounts registered to 2 different gmails).

Yup, I got three invites on my account. But, my Mom who has a very new account has no invites. Also, I notice the new account my Mom got has a $0.10 calling credit. Google must have decided they couldn't give a $1 calling credit to all these new members.

I don't have the invites and when I signed up I got the $0.10 credit also.

Got my invite July 16th think I set it up a couple weeks later.

Thanks. I don't see it either. Maybe they are distributing then to all users slowly. Instead of waiting for an invite, someone gives you one. Let the begging begin! :p :p :p

the GV product manager announced that invites will be rolled out for all GV accounts. so everyone will eventually get invites on all their accounts. see the October 13 entry at »googleblog.blogspot.com/ if you have a twitter account, you might consider following cwalker123

It looks like if you are one of the older accounts (and got $1 credit initially) you should have 3 invites. Those with new accounts (and $.10 credit) don't have invites yet.

Interesting that Google is only giving 3 invites per account. I wonder if they are not ready for this to grow as fast as Gmail did...

I used Grand Central for quite a period of time and switched over to GV early on. I have $1.00 credit but no "invites" :(

Wow. Ok sorry about that. I too have been using Grand Central for years before Google Voice. Well the Google Voice Blog states that they will be giving invitations to all users soon

both of my accounts have 0.10 credit but the newer one doesn't have the invites. I'm thinking the invites might be based on usage as I only use the newer one to test and not for normal phone calls.

Sorry but mine is an ancient GrandCentral account that was converted also. And no invites available.

They are still sending out invites. I got some spare invites I was going to use for a pastor that went with magicjack instead. Took about 4 to 6 weeks.

MJ and GV are not mutually exclusive. For outbound calling GV doesn't get you anything extra, but the inbound call handling options and enhanced voicemail capabilities will blow away MJ's. Perhaps those are not needed, but they can be very helpful for some folks.

The GV invite was to get them a number they could then forward to an ata with a paid did or gizmo5. Instead of paying $5 a month and $58 one time for a pap2, they decided $40 for MJ was better.

gmail users don't just get one. they have to apply for one. if no one sends you an invite from their allotment of 3, then you can apply for one directly here: »https://services.google.com/fb/forms/goo···einvite/
