Post What New!! HD Channels You Want

It's nice that Hamilton now has most of the HD channels that are offered, but there are still quite a few that I'd like to have, and was wondering if anyone from Cogeco had any idea if these Channels will become available anytime soon

My Personal picks would be

1 - CNN HD (this one is long overdue)
2 - TLC HD
3 - History Channel HD

Oh and on a side note I did see that we got APTN as an HD channel now, but really Cogeco is this something that you think will appeal to the masses as compared to CNN?

channel release information is released at the same time to employees (that visit here) as it is in the press releases.

Best way to show interest in the channels you want is to call the sales dept and ask for them, there is a form they fill out that is sent to the right department to show interest.

Still no idea where APTN HD came from :/ CNN in HD? meh, probably just more upconverted crap i wouldnt watch anyway.

TLC and History i would go for

I thought it used to be policy that any channel that was on the SD band, people who paid for HD got the HD equivalent. They broke from that policy when they started charging extra for Discovery Channel HD (I still refuse to pay extra for specific HD content) and have seriously begun looking at alternatives to Cogeco's packages as prices rise.

But what I'd really like to see is HD on demand content.

Discovery HD is actually a totally separate network that airs different content from the regular Discovery Channel. It's not merely an HD version of the SD Discovery Channel. What they're doing kind of makes sense, albeit it's still rather shifty.

TLC HD and HGTV HD would be nice to have. How about forcing the networks that claim to be HD to actually be HD. CHCH comes to mind.

For me, CNN HD would rank about exciting as The Weather Network in HD.

I second TLC HD & HGTV HD (dunno if it even exists?).

Actually, I would like to see the entire lineup that I already pay for available in HD...I'm sure that won't happen in the remainder of my lifetime though.

Alternately, it would be nice if some of the SD channels could be broadcast at a higher bitrate. Many of them look like such crap they're painful to watch when there's no HD equivalent available!

Food HD is at the top of my list. The majority of the programming on it now looks like its down converted already

Well, if Discovery HD airs different content, then I was wrong in my initial assumption. But, I'm still miffed that my HD access fee doesn't include this channel.

BTW, does anyone know if Discovery HD is available over-the-air from the Windsor/Detroit viewing area?

I'd love more sports networks.. Big10Network, the new SEC network. There just isn't enough college football on regular channels anymore and its sucks.

Is it even available off-air anywhere? The only reason I'm not saying an absolute 100% know is because there are weird situations in the US where some cable channels are broadcasted on LPs and such.

Still waiting for the upgrade here in Fort Erie . Right now we only get 11 channels in HD plus HDnet and HD discovery if you pay extra for it . They upgraded my street back in May but still no full package :mad:

It wasn't discovery, but I thought ESPN was....but my info is sadly now almost 2 years out of date...it was really fuzzy though must have been a really low LP station, I was in an apt and I think I was facing the wrong way...I thought it was channel 59 but...again my information is 2 yrs old now and it may have been shut down now, but I don't remember getting discovery ota.
