[HSI] Telephone modem working with HSI now in certain areas.....

Just had a tech out today. He informed me with the Charter telephone modem. It will also work as a cable modem. They have it rolling right now in certain areas. It hits in my area in about 2-3 weeks. Pricing he was not sure. He said most likely $3.00 to rent out the internet portion of the modem. Would be cool if it was free if you subscribe to telephone as well. Just a heads up.

I heard Charter was working on this...
The main problem before was the provisioning system had issues trying to address the device for both services.

Right now I have both Internet and phone with my own modem and the phone box, they would still charge monthly for using the internet part of the phone modem?

yes, there they will still charge the monthy rent on the modem for internet

It should be available now for you. We've been doing "convergience" in Medford for a week and I gotta tell you it works great. Anytime you can take a splitter out of the equation is great.

hmmn, i have had the thing in my house for 2 or 3 years without charge - i don't see them charging for a modem. charging for some other item -- sure

He told me about the Medford area. Is Charter charging though to use that feature?
