Mediacom is my internet provider and I have been out of service for 4 days now. I can't seem to find out what's going on or any idea of how long my service will be down. Is anyone else having this problem? Should I be shopping for a new provider?

Have you called in to notify someone? What did they say on the phone?

I called 3 days straight. I've heard "replacing worn out parts and an ensuing unplanned outage & no ETA", "repairing spring storm damage" and "upgrading with new technology". 4 days is kind of ridiculous.

I'll have to write it down and do it later. The only time I can get on the internet is when I take my laptop someplace with wifi.

I don't think it's just me because of that fact; even the unsecured wireless networks in my building are getting no service. Probably most of them are on Mediacom since it's prominent in this area.

My service doing good now, I do think they are working on upgrades is what is going on. I have an installer that lives close to me who was having problems too. I talked to him at Price cutters and his high speed got fixed at the same time mine did, so ok over here now. I live close to Cox North.

Yeah mine's back up. I had to repair my connection before it would come back up again though; just power cycling didn't work.
