U-Verse vs. Road Runner Reliability [San Diego, CA]
I'm currently looking into these two ISPs for the Del Mar area of San Diego. I'm running AT&T DSL right now, the "Pro" package (which should be 3.0 mb/s down), but I'm only getting 1.0 mb/s down.
I've heard good reviews for U-Verse, but does anyone here have a personal experience with it in the San Diego area? I've also heard that Road Runner is a bit flaky, but I've seen people post speeds up to 20 mb/s.

The speeds you're getting now on ADSL have little bearing on what you would have with U-verse They won't install if you can't at least get the 19mbps profile (that profile is capable of the max 12 package).
I had Road Runner for about a year and loved it, but Time Warner's a hot, disorganized mess in the LA area. At least they clearly advertise their speeds in San Diego. People report high speeds because of PowerBoost - you get a initial short burst of speed that can help for some things, but mostly just over-inflates speed ratings.
Honestly either one will probably be fine. I'd go with whatever you feel is the best deal. Neither have contracts, so if you find it isn't working well switch to the other one. :)

I had both uverse and roadrunner in utc araa while I was getting my Economics Degree from UCSD. I wil say that for me roadrunner was oversubscribed and web surfing would slow down to dial-up speeds at 7 pm I switched to uverse my senior year and have no regrets.
