maybe someone from the cox area im from can answer this, or a tech. anyhow i noticed my news group no longer working. Usually the graphics group i belong to i can share ideas and such with fellow artists but now i cant seem to connect.

when i went to check the settings i found the news server was not responding. when i went to cox site to verify i had the proper info, they didnt even list arkansas in the list. Is the central server dead with no alternatives (such as east or west)?

many of us depend on the news services, hopefully ill get an answer quickly.

Either news.east.cox.net or news.west.cox.net should work for you.

hmm i must be doing something wrong, both east and west deny connections immediately.

Sometimes the news servers will get stuck at their end and think you are connected while your not thus giving you 502 errors. Try this, shut your client down, wait around 10 minutes then add either the east or west server address to your client servers list and try to reconnect and see if that helps.

thank you for the help ill give it a shot. I tell ya upgrading to windows 7, and having to reinstall all my software..plus trying to remember all the settings is downright frustrating sometimes. Im glad you guys are here to help us out :)
