I'm betting no impact on bell Throttle
New version of BitTorrent heralds a new age of uncongested file sharing

Re: I'm betting no impact on bell Throttle
I read the text at the site you posted. I don't see how that is going help. Bell throttles during "peak hours" regardless of whether there is congestion or not. It really has nothing to do with what the torrent client is doing to "control" downloads. I would be interested in seeing what people's experience is so far with this but like you I am doubtful.

And it won't impact bell's throttle because only %5 of people will use this client with the revolutionary new bandwidth limiting technology.. :D :D :D

Re: I'm betting no impact on bell Throttle
Remember this is not a new client but a new protocol
How many clients will choose to implement may be a better question

Re: I'm betting no impact on bell Throttle
herlad my ass , they are taking more control off my network from me.
NOTE guys they ARE NOT giving you a choice to use the protocol if you use the new client YOUR USING the protocol
AND guess what also that measn its easier now to get detected by elecoya and other things so double wammy.
What do we want retards on the net says CEO of bit torrent "HELL YEA we want em all retawrded, how better to take the next step and drm them from any controls in the client so we can maka mora bucksarooney"
in other words home users with multiple users will have to use older or other clients if they have traffic shaping or other measures inline OR your gonna have tons a probs and im told that even on lans it will screw you with measures in place already.
time for cygwin and a change to parse files and rtorrent on xp

I don't see why anyone would want to use that?
Good thing I have an old version of azureus saved on my computer.

Re: I'm betting no impact on bell Throttle
You guys complain about uTP but I force uTorrent to use it and i can still download even when bell is throtteling my connection, though I only get around 300kb/s vs 500kb/s.
Also when u say 5% of people thats way off as uTorrent is the number one client after that its probably rTorrent and then transmission for linux and then there is still the Azureus hold outs who like wasting system resources...

Re: I'm betting no impact on bell Throttle
I bet it detects Bell's throttle as congestion which would mean it is using less bandwidth that what Bell's throttle allows.
