HBO moving to iO Gold from iO silver for new customers

Only new customers will be effected by this. Probably won't make no difference right now, but this will probably be a way to get customers to upgrade to iO gold, since it will have more value to it.

Re: HBO moving to iO Gold from iO silver for new customers
I have the Silver package, and HBO channels started showing "Not Authorized" last night.
I have yet to have any free time to waste with customer support, but I'll report back when I do.

if you have optimum online theres no need for the movie channels to be honest.

Re: HBO moving to iO Gold from iO silver for new customers
Effective November 2, 2009, Cablevision launched a new iO Silver Package for new customers and existing customers who are upgrading throughout our service area.
Customers subscribing to the new iO Silver Package on or after November 2 will receive 18 Showtime Channels in place of the current 22 HBO Channels. Customers wishing to add an a la carte subscription to HBO on or after November 2, 2009 will pay the new monthly rate of $14.95.
Existing iO Silver Package customers will experience no programming changes and there will be no change in digital equipment requirements.
As always, customers can find details of this new package listing and HBO rates on Cablevision's consumer website www.optimum.com

i don't have cablevision anymore but i probably would have upgraded and cablevision knows that hbo is one of the most popular premium channels and they have most of the adult series including true blood and curb your enthusiasm.

I have HBO and Showtime a la carte (ie. I don't have iO Silver.) Will my rates for those packages increase?

Do you have iO? It was cheaper to have Silver than it was to have iO plus HBO, so it would have been worth your while had you had Silver + Showtime IF you have iO.
Old pricing/package for Norwalk:
iO $63.90 + HBO ($12.95) = $76.85
Silver = $75.95 = iO+HBO+Starz+Encore+IFC+Chiller+Slueth+
Sundance
Try checking the new rates and packages to see if it works in your favor.

HBO will go to $12.95 on 12/1 if you are currently subscribed to it a la carte. If you add it a la carte starting today you'll pay $14.95.

I was (and still am) on the triple play promo, so I'm paying $29.95 for iO + $11.95 for HBO + $10.95 for Showtime. Or at least, I was.

I'm slow today ... (or don't feel like reading) ... this means nothing to a current iO Gold subscriber, correct?

so when you say " I have io silver" there's no way to know what you are supposed to have unless you say " I have iO silver and was installed before Nov 1."

You assume he was subscribing to Family.. He could also have Broadcast Basic + HBO or Broadcast Basic plus iO + HBO (A package that I subscribed to for ~ $35/mo about 2 years ago.)

Re: HBO moving to iO Gold from iO silver for new customers
Raritan Valley listing on the Optimum website currently shows Showtime channels instead of HBO for the Silver customers, but I still have my HBO channels.
Don't remember getting any official notification about the intended change.

There is no change if you already had iO Silver. The change is only for people who added it starting yesterday.
