I have a big problem with Comcast Business HSI. I don't own a company, but I've signed a 3 year contract with Comcast Business on October 12, 2008 for Basic High Speed Internet and a static IP $75/month (for my home). In august 2009, the Internet started connecting/ disconnecting frequently (for couple of seconds) so we cannot used it. I've called customer support (with my neighbor phone because mine was VOIP and didn't work) and they sent some technicians.
They tried to fix it twice and failed; they replaced the cable and the modem. When they were here it seemed ok, but after a couple of minutes the net was up and down again.
So we've decided to cancel the account, because they couldn't repaired it. I've called three times to customer support to cancel it, first on September 15, 2009. Every time they said that somebody from Cancellation Department will contact me in 72 hours, but nobody called or emailed me. Last month I've returned the modem to a Comcast center. Comcast sent another invoice like nothing happened; I have to pay it until 13 November 2009 or they will discontinue my account. Last time I've called, on October 23, the account wasn't canceled.
What can I do to make Comcast cancel my account and not to pay the remaining 2 years of contract (because it's not my fault that Comcast couldn't fix the Internet).
Should I pay the last invoice or not? I've returned the modem on October 15, but in the meantime I didn't check if the net was working.
