[DVR] ClearQAM channels show "locked" icon?
With AverMedia software, and now with Win7 Media Center, QAM channel scans of my A180 report numerous unscrambled channels with a "locked" icon.
Should I assume this does not signify encryption, but rather "do not copy" status in the QAM stream? Should I expect Win7 DRM issues with these channels?
TIA

My comcast line and avermedia m780 has been showing the same thing since they put the expanded basic channels in clearqam. I have to scan with my tv, figure out what channels i get, and manually add them in windows media center. Happened with both vista and windows 7. It's a pain but worth it.

Re: [DVR] ClearQAM channels show "locked" icon?
I've been Win 7 Microshafted. Entered all my QAM channels, saved a restore point. Then had to move my tuner down 2 PCI slots.
Had to use Device Mangler to reload the driver. MC says no tuner. Rescanned channels ... lost all my QAM entries.
Tried to restore. No restore point found. Turns out default is no memory for restore points. (Thanks for NO warning).
Some things NEVER change.

Re: [DVR] ClearQAM channels show "locked" icon?
My area's 5c flags are very lax(all channels incl HD are copy-free, except for premiums), so I don't think the "locked" icons signify 5c protection. I put the RC version of Win7 on my HTPC and seem to only remember the locked icons on the truely encrypted channels.
I'm installing Win7 this week, we'll see how it goes for me, since my Comcast expanded basic lineup is still "in the clear" for now since we are in the middle of Project Calvery.
