Thinking of switching back To Comcast

Hi, all. I am considering switching back to Comcast internet. Verizon recently increased my price from $40 a month to $50. Anyway I have a Motorola Surfboad 5200. Am I still able to use that with Comcast? I did use it several years ago when I was a customer. I understand Comcast is now offering the Motorola SURFboard® SBG900 Wireless, which apparently is not the greatest. Thanks for any help

Re: Thinking of switching back To Comcast

Any of the SB-51xx series and above are still usable on Comcast up to the 16/2 speed tier.
You might want to check and see some of the other "free modem+Free wireless router" deals (it depends on the market, and if you signup through a partner like Best buy, as to what the rebates are for) I wouldn't choose the SBG900 either (not that it's bad, I just think all-in-1 devices are a comprimise, were 2 devices allow you to mix-n-match for better performance) but some areas offer better seperate devices PLUS some cash back.
On the other hand if you still have active cable you could probably self install your existing modem (you might want to plug it in and check the signal levels first) with no install fee or tech visit.

Once you're sure the signals are good, call in and get the best promo you can.
Good luck
