i would like to ask anyone who has tried out wireless bb connection with any provider.

1. how is the line during rain? is it affected like astro?

2. can a wireless bb conection handle the amount of connections required by a p2p app?

3. is the data sent from your wireless modem to the base station encrypted? if so, how is performance degraded?

similar questions have been posted. I gather most of us here has very little opinion about wireless broadband.

Until a successful role of of broadband (Jaring?), then shall we see more rants and more problems as well as solutions propounded here.

i guess for now we have to wait patiently.. for jaring.

What to do? My new office only has land line from maxis and they are supposed to roll out ADSL but ziit until today.

They also cannot roll out wireless BB at that place because they areafraid it will overlap the service with the so called (damned) company involved in the ADSL project in Puchong.

They have already launched Maxis WB in Puchong ???
God bless them then.....
FYI, according to my friend, their WB receiver tower fuse was exploded during thunderstorm yesterday in Subang. Only recovered after half an hour later. Wonder if they have installed lightning protection gears there.. haaa..

Wonder when Maxis will offer the 1MB upgrade. My friend was struggled with the inconsistent slow bandwidth connection.
That day I saw the AirAsia counter in Carefour Subang, they are using Jaring Wireless (That huge box) to access internet for ticket booking.
Wonder when Jaring announce their package.
hope it will be cheap then.. :p

That box not that big if it is from Some Networks.

They have enough revenue on cellphone business, dun care abt broadband..that's why they sub con to another company to handle it.
I wait for Jaring.. what good abt jaring anyway compare to TmNut? anyone can comment?

Just called the Jaring's NOC and I rather disappointed. The sail launch after hari raya should be read as aaaaffffftttteeeerrrrr hhhhaaaaaarrrriiiiiii rrrrraaaaayyyyyaaaaa :)

January will the launch date and the first area will be KLCC, whylah? I think glamour what else huh.

Then they will launch it Putrajaya, and some other places where Streamyx already set their foothold. I think these ISPs really need to sit down and study their planning before doing something stupid.
