Email from Customer Security Assistance
Got emails at both Comcast email accounts today saying my computer(s) had been used to send unsolicited emails and I should run McAfee. Well, I do run McAfee and do weekly scans with no reported problems. Was this just a blanket email sent to everyone?

Re: Email from Customer Security Assistance
Hmmm...well, Comcast has seemingly shut off the two email accounts that I have with them, so can't tell :D Quite frankly, in all my dealings with Comcast, they have proven to be so utterly incompetent, I wouldn't be surprised if they confused you with someone else.

It looks like a phishing expedition. The hyperlinks in the message say comcast.net but that's not where they are directed when I put the mouse cursor on them. I'm going to delete them.

You should submit it over in this forum »Spam, Scam and Phishbusters
They can help figure out the story behind it.

I'm glad they do this.. Too much spam out there and wasted bandwidth.

Re: Email from Customer Security Assistance
I got the same email.
I don't even use that address for anything, so I'm not sure how anything could have gotten on my computer to send spam.
I have every possible security program, updated and running.
Never open email from people I don't know...no link clicky...etc. Surf the web more carefully than most people, so it's very highly unlikely that a spam bot has gotten to my computer.
I did open this email just to post the header info at the link above.
