Unable to download email from client

For some bizarre reason, Thunderbird is not logging onto my email account to download the latest ones, I can log onto »webmail.att.net just fine, But its no longer letting me access my email through the software.

They're down again, just as they were a few days ago. I haven't been able to get emails from any of my mailboxes all day, using my email client. Happens a lot lately, usually for a few hours at a time. Thank goodness I don't use these email accounts for anything important.

Whenever this happens, I just tell my client to stop querying that group of accounts for a few hours..and it usually passes by the end of the day.....

As most here will tell you, it's just not wise to count on their email system for anything critical or time sensitive. :-(

I have been having this same problem with Windows Vista Mail all morning ... off and on I cannot download mail. I have two accounts through Bellsouth, one for personal and one for business, and cannot download from either one right now. Not happy!!

Same song, different day. Been doing this since June 18th, that I know of. I think I am going to start using other emails also.

This is really getting on my last nerve. Outlook client kept asking for a password this morning and I finally just closed it..

I can recommend »https://www.fastmail.fm as a professional and affordable mail service. You can either use a fastmail.fm mailbox, or you can host your own domain(s) there. I've been using fastmail for a couple of years now, and there's never been an outage.
