This is an great feature for those with their own device and BroadVoice is the only provider to offer this option. Seems like they've got BYOD provisioning down to a science and they provide all the necessary settings making installation a breeze, just as you describe. You forgot to mention the BYOD feature. This saved me over 30.00 $ at signup, plus no shipping charges, and I was up and running in 10 minutes as soon as I could program the settings into my Grandstream. It works like a charm. The service is very impressive. |
![]() Dallasbvoice @gatewaybank.com | Broadvoice major problemsWith all this being said, I've had the service since January 2005 and have only experienced 1 outage day before the recent major problems, and when they're working, they're the best in voip. |

![]() Maddin74 @comcast.net | I finally have service back on Wednesday, but International Calls to Europe still don't work. Before the current outage I have only had a few minor problems since I signed up in December. |

![]() upsfo @insightBB.com | Re: nice tryI was very polite and nice throughout the conversation, he was not. I need the ability to have my wife call several countries in Europe and in SA since I travel for a living but I'll keep on paying the extra $15 on Int'l charges to vonage and wait to see what happens with broadvoice. Thank God for this forum, you guys/gals have helped me decide to stay with Vonage for right now. I hope Vonage gets on with the Int'l calling plans because I'm very satisfied with their service. I'm in Kentucky and I have NEVER in 6 months had an outage problem. The guys in India are helpful and quick to solve any questions Ive had. |
| nc22 join:2004-04-16 Everett, WA | Are you working in BV?Web-site: 100% Ease of Installation: 100% Call Quality: 100% Reliability: 100% Tech Support: 100% Value for money: 100% ?????? and you said "Considering service was rock solid for many" ??? All I got was unhappy experience only: Very bad CS service, Not admitting their fault. Strongly suggest leaving this VOIP provider Or at least to request for a refund They said fixed, but..... The service for my VOIP is still down TODAY, I can't call long distance and receive calls Nothing got fixed but they still send me the bill. Here is their response by email: >Billy, >Our engineers have reported that most issues are resolved but that there >are still a few scattered problems across the network that they are working >on resolving. > >Please contact us if this issue does not get resolved for you as we need to >separate these global issues from the local ones. > >Make sure you have taken diagnostic steps such as resetting power on your >device or ideally your whole network. > >For further information including an appology and explanation from our >president, please visit your web portal. > >As is our company policy, we offer service as best we are able to. We >cannot judge whether service outages are due to local or global issues. > >We will consider special instances where you have documented service >issues. > > >Thank you, >BroadVoice Customer Care > >pcd |

| Redbluffian join:2005-10-29 Red Bluff, CA | Satisfied Broadvoice UserIn the area of customer service, neither has screwed up the billing, but when it comes to customer support, so far BV has had very short to no hold times and the rep's had the tech knowledge to help. I know it's subjective, but I did not get the impression BV had moved CS offshore. There is one big limitation on BV which is faxing. They don't support it. |
| benjamin All propositions are of equal value join:2000-12-20 New York, NY clubs: 1 edit | Not a BroadVoice employee :)As for the service issues, I addressed the one major outage and a couple of minor ones in my updates. It is also important to remember that quality of service may vary based on location and each user's Internet connection. My ISP happens to be very reliable and my east coast BroadVoice proxy server has also been reliable. Initially, there were some issues with the Los Angeles-area proxy server (which didn't affect me but did one of my friends) but this was resolved a couple of years back. Anyhow, sorry for the lack of replies and feel free to conjecture what you may but I assure you I am only posting a positive review because my experience has been positive. |
