North Carolina leads the Southeast in the rate of job creation for 2004 and trails only three states -- California, Florida and Texas -- in total job gains, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
North Carolina has gained 49,000 jobs since January of this year.
North Carolina non-farm industry employment has increased by 1.3 percent since January, compared to the national average growth of 0.8 percent over the same time period, according to data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
