Yea!
Don't get very many bonuses living in Augusta, finally something nice. Now.. is it worth changing from Dish over....
Of course Comcast's DVRs still aren't as good as Dish's.

Why the heck would Comcast want to actually compete?

Re: Yea!
if you stole the code and such from Tivo you'd have something different than the MSO as well. especially since they pretty much design their own.
But i thought i read somewhere that Comcast is going back to Tivo for the DVR service.

DOCSIS 3.0 Already Available in Chicago
But there's no point if you're using it in residential, great for commercial/businesses though. The business contract is 2 years so make sure it's worth it.

I'm so surprised that ...
... the small rural town in the middle of nowhere I live in has DOCSIS 3 speed tiers yet some major cities don't.

Still none in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, the most densely populated part of the city... but the outer sparsely populated suburbs have it and now Augusta will have it before we do. Doesn't make much sense but then that is Comcast.

Funny, we have a Tivo too and frankly see nothing the same in the interface between the Tivo unit and Dish's offering. In fact I personally like the Dish interface much better than that of Tivo.
I hate how I lose the channel I'm watching completely with the Tivo, Dish allow me to continue watching the show while using the interface. The season pass is clunky and the interface is slow on the Tivo.
Comcast DVRs are ok. The interface is ugly, but the big thing is Dish's multi room multi tuner is a real game winner for us.
That becomes less of an issue if either company would support whole house HD dvrs like U-verse. About the only thing I like about U-Verse!

They're probably more concerned with takeup rates, and wealthy residents of suburbs generally have more disposable income to spend.

Or it could be that there's less work to do in upgrading rural areas because there's less equipment there.

Dish's OLD DVRs are stolen Tivo code. that's the whole issue with the companies and the law suite.

About Miami Docsis 3.0 roll out
To the person who said "what about Miami ?", to respond to your question, I can tell you only what a Comcast spokesperson told me. (I dialed 305-Comcast). The woman I spoke with was very well informed about the Docsis 3.0 roll out in the South Florida area, and told me that several cities in Broward County have been upgraded, and that a Miami-Dade County roll out was as she said "very imminent".
I later asked her if she could specify any dates, and I was told that 30 - 50 days should be expected. Also when they do roll out, E-mails and Letters will be sent to customers to inform them of the upgrade and to unplug there cable modems for a brief period then plug it back on.

Its worth the wait.
As someone who just jumped to 50/10 in Denver today, I have to tell you that it is well worth the wait. Even with 4 channels showing signals between -11 and -14, I am pulling 62/20 with powerboost and sustained 50/11.

You're obviously not familiar with Atlanta. Buckhead is the "money" part of Atlanta.
